Indian Voter ID Card issued by Election Commission of India serves as an identity proof while casting vote. It also acts as general identity proof, address proof and age proof for many purposes.
In past days applying for the election card was tough, people had to spend lot of time to apply a new voter card in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and other States. But nowadays it is very simple process as people can sit at home and apply voter card online.
Who Is Eligible To Apply
Voting is our primary right so people attaining age of 18 years or more on the first day of January of the year are eligible to apply for Electoral Photo ID Card (EPIC).
To apply online / update your details you need to register in National Voters Service Portal, this is one time registration and will be usefull for any changes to be made in future. For One Time Registration you have to follow below steps:
Step 1 : Go to –> Voter Portal by Election Commission Of India Website(https://voterportal.eci.gov.in/) you need to login button, click on it (please note that to apply or update details or download electronic – digital voter card or any services you need to register first then only you can access all the services provided by Election Commission of India through online)

–> Click Here (https://voterportal.eci.gov.in/) to directly go to login / registration page
Mobile Number / Email ID / Voter ID Number
Step 2 : You will go to login screen, if you are already registerd fill the fields, your login id will be either Registered mobile no./EPIC no, enter password, type captcha displayed and verify captcha to login into your account,

If you are new or first time user then below login button there is Sign Up For New User. click on it.
Step 3 : In registration screen, here you need to enter your mobile number and enter captcha code displayed after that click on Send OTP button
Step 4 : Verification code will come to your mobile number, you need to validate it here once done
Step 5 : you will have two options i have EPIC number, i don’t have EPIC number you need to select as per your requirement and fill all the below fields and click on register to complete registration process
Note: If you already have voter number you need to select i have EPIC number and follow by filling the fields shown

Forgot Or Reset Password For Voter Card-NVSP Login
Forgot login password, simply reset your password by clicking on forgot password on NVSP Login page. Below are the steps to follow
Step 1 : Go to –> NVSP Website(https://www.nvsp.in/)
Step 2 : Click on Login/Register button
Step 3 : In login page click forgot password link
Step 4 : Now enter your mobile number (please note you should provide the same number)
Step 5 : Fill the captcha and click send OTP, you need to validate it here by submitting the code you received in you mobile once done
Step 6 : You can change or reset your password
How To Apply For New Voter Card Online
To apply for epic card you need to register first, this is one time registration for procedure read above section, if already done follow the below steps.
Keep your photo, documents like age proof, photo proof, address proof with you as you need to upload required documents along with application
Step 1 : Go to –> NVSP Website(https://www.nvsp.in/)
Step 2 : Click on Login/Register button, Once Login done will take you to inner page
Step 3 : Click on Fresh Inclusion/Enrollment as you are applying for first time
Step 4 : Fill all the fields and see that there are no spelling mistakes while you are entering
Step 5 : Upload Photo, all supporting documents where ever required
Step 6 : Once you complete proof read for any typo errors and submit
Step 7 : On submission you will get a reference number, write down or screenshot it as serves a tracking number
