Significance of Arka Patra : This tree is worshipped on Ratha Sapthami and we find usage of this leaf on this day also. It is associated with the worship of Sun God, Lord Hanuman and also Lord Ganesha.
There are four more leaves are mentioned for Patra puja as per mentioned in Bhavishya Purana.

Note : Some priests says not to use tulsi leaves in ganesh puja, some says tulsi leaves can be used only in Vinayaka Chavithi and we should not use in any other ganesh pooja. So we request you to recheck with your nearest purohit.
